Contributions and Memorials

Valley Gospel Choir depends upon friends and fans for financial support. We are truly grateful for the support we receive through donations and sponsorships.

The easiest way you can assist is to become a concert sponsor. As a contributor, Valley Gospel Choir supporters are listed by name during our concerts.

In the past, we have had three sponsorship levels, and this year we are adding a fourth – Platinum. At that level, your name or organization will be displayed on our programs and posters, and if you wish, you will be able to select a song from our repertoire to sponsor!

Here are the updated sponsorship levels:
  • Bronze – up to $99.00
  • Silver – $100 to $249
  • Gold – $250 to $499
  • Platinum – $500-$1000 (New this year!)

If you wish to become a sponsor, please contact Kris Ruckman, Office Manager, at 715-456-6511 or krisruckman@hotmail.com.

History

Valley Gospel Choir was formed in the spring of 1992 to perform at Country Jam as part of the Sunday morning events. The first choir was made up of members who sang in area church choirs or just enjoyed singing gospel music. Our first concert was in 1992 at Memorial High School.

In 2000, we moved to the State Theater and began singing two concerts in mid-July. Another change in venues came in 2009 as concerts were moved to Grace Lutheran Church in Eau Claire. The intimacy of that setting has been pleasing for both concertgoers and performers.

Three conductors have led Valley Gospel Choir during its 26 years of performances. The choir was formed under the direction of Paul Nixdorf. Cathy Reitz took over in 1996, followed by Merlyn Aude in 2006. Many current members are charter members who have sung with the choir since the beginning. Each year, a group of choir members are elected as the choir's Board of Directors that plans, prepares, and directs the choir's activities. We are also blessed with a loyal following of concert attendees who look forward to our yearly concerts and faithfully support us.

Mid-season each year, Valley Gospel Choir performs a short concert to benefit a local community organization. Persons who wish to have the choir consider performing for their organization should contact the Conductor, Choir President, or Office Manager.
